Heat pumps
The decarbonisation of home heating systems is another way that the government intends to lower carbon and achieve net zero by 2050. As a result, gas heating systems will no longer
be installed into new homes from 2025. We believe that this change will in part contribute to an increase in the number of heat pumps used to heat properties, with 600,000 estimated in our region by 2028.
We plan to create a network capable to meet this need, making it as easy as possible for customers to connect heat pumps to their homes and businesses.
