2020 Workshops

In September 2020, WPD’s distribution managers hosted a series of 11 workshops to gather feedback from its stakeholders across the company’s network area: the East Midlands, South Wales, the West Midlands and the South West. Owing to the circumstances regarding Covid-19, the workshops were held online using the Zoom platform, rather than in person.

Most of the workshop attendees represented local authorities, although other parties involved in the growth agenda, such as developers, universities and community energy groups, were also in attendance. The feedback from all the workshops has been collated and summarised in this report.

2019 Workshops

In the autumn of 2019, our Distribution Managers hosted the second series of stakeholder workshops at depots throughout the WPD operating area.

The eleven workshops were intended to inform stakeholders about our electric vehicle (EV) strategy and the local investment we are planning. Our teams also benefited from learning about the challenges our stakeholders face so we can work together to help future-proof the region’s electricity network.

Stakeholders in attendance, such as councillors, council officers, developers and others involved in the growth agenda, found it useful to meet and share contact details with WPD’s local planners and managers.

The workshops were accompanied by the production of this investment booklet containing a snapshot of some of our 2019/20 investment projects and contact details allowing readers to get in touch with the WPD Manager of their local network.

A summary of projects across the whole WPD network area can also be found on our investment map here.
